As part of an ongoing residency Robyn’s Rocket has turned the usually industrial Cafe Oto London into a homemade rocket ship, as part of a series of Inclusive Conscious gigs.
Robyn hosts the event and invites visual and music/sound artists and bands to play at each rocket.
The idea is to create a space that’s as welcoming to as many people as possible, but especially people who might not ordinarily feel comfortable in an environment like Cafe Oto.
For Glasgow BUZZCUT, Robyn will run a night of live music and visual jams. An immersive night of improvised, experimental music. Where everyone is welcome. Come and play an instrument, sing, or draw visuals on the iPad.
Rocket badges are available for everyone at the performance and throughout the Festival. These are paper badges shaped like a rocket that indicate whether or not you would like to talk to new people, just talk to people you know, or if you’d prefer not to talk to people for the moment. You can collect them at the BUZZCUT Info Desk near each venue’s box office & they will explain how to use them.
Robyn ROCKET
Robyn Rocket is a musician, author and educator. Robyn plays trumpet, and regularly puts out music through Box Music on Spotify, iTunes etc)
She has a residency at Cafe Oto where she hosts Robyn’s Rocket, an immersive night of improvised music and visuals.(You can watch previous Rockets on Youtube or the website)
Robyn’s Rocket took part in the Beautiful Octopus Club run by Heart & Soul, an arts organisation who believe in the power and talents of people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
Robyn is a Creative Associate with Heart & Seal, and has completed commissions for Battersea Arts Centre, Tourette’s Hero, and Drake Music.
Robyn was an Honorary Associate at University College London, and has written 3 books: the Autism Friendly Guide to Periods, the Independent Woman’s Handbook for Super Safe Living on the Autistic Spectrum and The Autism Friendly Guide to Self Employment.
